Virtual New Choices Classes

Classes will run on a biweekly schedule from now through the end of winter 2021. Check back for updates and additional information. 

January 11-15, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
January 25-29, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

MORE INFO
In response to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, we have launched our traditional New Choices class using a new, safe-from-your-home, virtual model. 

During the class, participants will gain access to current lists of job opportunities, practice interviewing and applying for jobs online, revise their resumes, and learn how to manage stress through this uncertain time. 

Being that this class will be completely conducted online, there are a few prerequisites for participants: 
  • Reliable online technology to access online class platform 
  • Computer/hand-held device (such as a laptop, tablet or smart phone) for class participation purposes 
  • Cell phone or telephone
  • Current/active email and ability to open attachments, complete documents and return

Virtual Customer Service First-Class
​
If you're looking to push your job search forward, join Customer Service First-Class. Participants learn critical communication and professional skills transferable to any job through this five-day workshop. At course completion, attendees will be interviewed by local employers.

​February 22-26, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

To be eligible, participants must complete a work-ready assessment, have an electronic copy of an updated resume, have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and make the commitment to attend all classes and participate in at least four interview sessions with potential employers.

Mindful Career Exploration
Learn, plan and transition with our mindfulness workshop for current and former clients. If you are struggling to manage your anxiety and stress in your job search or at work, join us virtually for a one-hour session and learn how different mindfulness strategies can help assist you in your career journey. Join us for all six classes or check out one or two by registering here.

A Closer Look - Client Support Sessions
Clients are invited to attend A Closer Look session, where one of our expert staff or volunteers will dive into specific questions and challenges our clients are experiencing. This is open to any current PA Women Work client, but registration is required ahead of time!

January 19, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
February 2. 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.


Virtual Mock Interview Sessions
Practice makes perfect! We offer virtual mock interviews to clients. You must register in advance to be added to the schedule. Space is very limited (12 clients per session), so make sure you reserve your spot far in advance!

February 4, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Employer Meet & Greets
PA Women Work clients have the opportunity to hear directly from local employers through these virtual Employer Meet & Greets. You must register in advance. 

January 20, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
​February 17, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
3 Cups of Coffee + 3 Cups of Coffee GRAD
3 Cups of Coffee is a short-term mentoring program that connects job-seekers with a skilled volunteer in a similar job field. Over three meetings, the mentor helps the mentee strengthen their interview and job search skills and create a customized career plan while networking and building connections.

3 Cups of Coffee GRAD 
GRAD is a special subset of our 3 Cups of Coffee program offered to CCAC students and alumni. This program offers additional supports, resources and incentives. To learn more, email grad@pawomenwork.org today!
