Growing Opportunities Together: Literacy Pittsburgh + PA Women Work
Literacy Pittsburgh is one of our strongest partners – having worked together to offer programming and services to our community for more than five years.
Literacy Pittsburgh serves a diverse community of adult learners, including people building foundational literacy skills, learning English, and preparing for the workforce. Through our partnership with them, we host our New Choices program and Communicating for Success workshop directly to their students—supporting them in building confidence, strengthening communication, and getting ready for employment.
By combining Literacy Pittsburgh’s expertise in education with PA Women Work’s focus on workforce readiness, this partnership creates a more comprehensive pathway for participants of both organizations who can benefit from our combined services and expertise. It also allows both organizations to reach individuals facing increased barriers—ensuring they receive the support needed. “We would like to see our partnership continue and grow. Both classes offer new opportunities to take students from learning to earning,” said Carey Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Literacy Pittsburgh.
