Josefina was trapped in an abusive marriage. To protect herself and her 18-month-old daughter, she packed both of them up and escaped to a women’s shelter. Unemployed and isolated, Josefina discovered a team of women who surrounded her with optimism, compassion, and life-changing employment skills and resources at Pennsylvania Women Work. “I started to see doors opening, and I started making a plan,” Josefina said. “Pennsylvania Women Work helped me know I could dream again.” Today, Josefina has built a new life for herself and her daughter.
